Springbok Lodge
On your day of transfer to Safari, breakfast will be served in the morning before departure. After breakfast you will have ample time to pack and prepare your luggage.
The bus will depart at 11H00 from Agulhas House, traveling up the National freeway in land towards the Drankensberg. Halfway on the journey we will stop at The Windmill Ultra Stop that is situated in the Midlands. The Stop provides light lunches and a homemade deli. Lunches and snacks are not included in the package, on transfer days.
Day 1: Arrival – Nambiti Reserve, A big 5 Reserve, is the home of Springbok Lodge, upon arrival, at approximately 14H00, we will park the bus and you and your luggage will be transferred to the Lodge, as no private vehicles are allowed with the park. You will be welcomed with homemade refreshments and once your check in paperwork has been completed will you be showed to your room. The rooms have a touch of Africa with class. The luxury tents have air conditioning for summer and heating for the cold winter months. With a stunning view of the bushveld from the comfort of your bed.
We will meet back in reception at around 14H45 (winter time and 15H45 summer time), where you will presented with a dinner menu and the waiters will take your order. Your Safari Guide/Ranger will pack a cooler box with your choice of drinks for the 3 hour Safari. The Safari Guide will do a safety briefing and introduction before departure.
The Safari is a slow drive looking in to the bush for animals. The Safari Guides also communicates with each other via two way radios in order to ensure that all guest are included in special sightings and the possibility of seeing the Big 5. Halfway on the Safari the guide will find a secure spot to stop and have a sundowners with a few snacks as we watch the sunset. The safari guides are extremely informative and enjoys sharing their knowledge and experience regarding the bush.
After the Safari you will be dropped off at Reception where you will receive a warm hand towel to wipe the African dust of your face and hands. We will enjoy a few drinks before dinner. Dinner may consist of traditional South African Braai (BBQ) or sit down served dinners, e.g. Lamb Shank, Fish and Vegetarian dishes. After dinner you have the option of sitting around the fire place inside or outside, listening to the untouched African noises and looking at the Milky Way.
Day 2: Morning Safari, meeting at reception at 6H45 (winter time and 4H45 summer time) for Safari. Refreshment in the morning consist of Coffee/Tea and Biscuits. Safari Guide will make sure that the cooler box is packed for the Sunrise break with coffee and tea as well as proudly South African Amarula liquor for a creamy coffee.
Upon return to the Lodge a buffet breakfast (hot and cold) will be served. At breakfast table you will be presented with the lunch menu and the waiters will take your order.
After Breakfast and Lunch you will have some complimentary onsite activities include walking trails, SPA, bird watching and just relaxing at the swimming pool.
Lunch is served between 12H00 and 14H00. Your afternoon safari will be the same as the first day.
Day 3: Departure day – After the morning Safari we will enjoy our buffet breakfast and arrange to meet at Reception at 9H30. (Season depending). Your luggage will be collect from your room and we will be transferred to the Bus at 10H00.
On the journey to the Airport or next destination we will stop at the Wind Mill Ultra Stop again and if time permits take a detour to Nottingham Road and make a pit stop at the Nelson Mandela Capture Site. All transfer day’s lunches and excursion are not included in the package.
