Discover Freediving
The perfect introduction to experience freediving.
We start with an hour introduction presentation to understand what freediving is and to go through breathing techniques to prepare you for our pool session.
After our breathing session we will go to the pool for some breath holding while swimming with freediving gear, the instructor will be with you every step of the way, helping you to get comfortable and enjoy the experience.
Additional Option:
An extra 1 hour theory session followed by an introductory Open Water Freediving session to a maximum of 10 meters.
Note:
Participant for Discover Freediving Pool needs to be 10 years +
Participant for Discover Freediving Open Water needs to be 12 years +
The completion of the Discovery course does not certify the participant as a freediver.

- Duck dive sequence practice (pool depth depending)
1.5 hour open water session 1 (10m max):
- Equalization on line (5m)
- Free Immersion (pulling yourself up and down the line)(10m max)
- Finning Technique
- Relaxing dives, confidence building
- Technique adjustment (Body Positioning, Finning technique, recovery, breath-up)
- Duck Dive practice
- Tired diver tow and cramp removal
1.5 hour open water session 2 (20m max):
- Warm up dives >10m
- Free Immersion (pulling yourself up and down the line)(15m max)
- Finning Technique, duck dives
- Relaxing dives, confidence building
- Technique adjustment (Body Positioning, Finning technique, recovery, breath-up)
- Skills attempt:
- Constant weight dive to 10m (Duck dive down kicking down and up)
- Constant weight dive to 10m and arms only up (cramp simulation)
- Constant weight dive to 10m and mask off swim up (mask emergency)
- Constant weight dive to 10m and rescue instructor from 10m to surface.
- 15m max if both open water sessions done in one day.
- 20m max if 15m was reached on a previous day.
- Fun Dive session if possible ( coastal 2nd dive)
Note:
All Skills must be completed to be certified as a WSF Freediver with a minimum of 4 logged in water sessions.
These skills can be completed within 6 months after the course during additional training sessions with the Freediver course Instructor.

- Warm up dives 10m

- Skills attempt:

Note:
Participant must be certified as a RAID Freediver (or equivalent certification) before starting the RAID Advanced Freediver Course with a minimum of 4 logged in water sessions.
All Skills must be completed to be certified as a RAID Advanced Freediver with a minimum of 10 logged in water sessions.
These skills can be completed within 6 months after the course during additional training sessions with the Advanced Freediver course Instructor.
